Cookie Policy

Effective 2026-07-12

1 · Short version

Crux sets no advertising cookies. Site analytics run on Google Analytics, which uses cookies, so it is loaded only if you accept in the cookie banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. Beyond that, the only browser storage we use is what the product needs to function, listed below.

2 · Analytics (consent-based)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and a small number of product events (for example, that a demo was watched). With your consent it sets the cookies _ga (distinguishes visitors, ~2-year lifetime) and _ga_<container-id> (keeps session state, ~2-year lifetime). We use it for aggregate site statistics only, no advertising features, no cross-site tracking. Details: Google privacy policy.

3 · Your choice

Analytics cookies are set only after you click accept in the banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time right here, withdrawing removes existing Google Analytics cookies from your browser:

Your current choice: declined, no analytics cookies are set

4 · Storage we use

  • Firebase Authentication: keeps you signed in using IndexedDB in your browser (strictly necessary for the sign-in session).
  • crux-analytics-consent:v1 (localStorage): remembers your analytics-cookie choice.
  • crux-consent-ok:<version> (sessionStorage): caches that you accepted the current Terms so we don’t re-check on every page.
  • Product preferences (localStorage): small conveniences such as your last selected repository.
  • _ga, _ga_<container-id> (cookies): Google Analytics, only with your consent (section 2).

Apart from the Google Analytics cookies, all of the above are strictly necessary or functional; none are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

5 · Managing storage

You can clear this storage at any time via your browser settings (clearing site data will sign you out). Questions: crux@kiasm.dev. See also the Privacy Policy.
